Pacific University outplayed the Mountaineers in the first game of the Holiday Classic.

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Tonight the Mounties post made a presence in the first half, scoring 16 of the 32 points in the paint. Bre Olsen supplied 10 of those 16 points. Off the Bench Brianna Smith added two back to back three pointers to put Eastern back in the game. The first half was an even fought battle, with a tied score of 32 leading into the second half.

The last three minutes of the game, Eastern started pushing the ball up the court, bringing the score within seven; however due to forced-fouls the Mounties weren't able to recovered and lost 62-76.

"Obviously being on the losing end is disappointing; we are struggling to find team chemistry and identity out on the court," stated Head Coach Anji Weissenfluh on tonight's performance

Point-guard Jenny Fiso contributed 9 assists, 7 rebounds and only 1 turnover. Olsen led all scorers with a game-high 16 points and 7 rebounds. Tana Stickney also pulled down 7 rebounds and added 12 points. Smith contributed 12 points and teammate Salena Leavitt added 10.

The Mounties will bounce back and be ready to play this Sunday, November 23rd against the Bulldogs of University of Montana Western at 3:00p.m.
