Landon's 8 Treys Lifts Northwest U. Over Walla Walla

KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University junior guard Daley Landon's 8 three point field goals led the way as the Eagles scored in the century mark for the second time this season and they defeated Walla Walla University, 106-49 for their third consecutive victory. 

NU's (4-3) defense held Walla Walla to 24% shooting for the night from 2-point range and 20% from the 3-point line while the Eagles shot 48% for 2-point field goals and 46.4% from the 3-point arc. NU forced 20 WWU turnovers as they scored their lowest turnover rate of the season at 9.

Northwest was led by junior Daley Landon's (Waterville, Wash.) 8 three point shots and 24 points on the night going 8 for 12 from long range. Senior guard Eddie Coulson (N. Las Vegas, Nev.) had 18 points and 8 rebounds while sophomore Greg George (Seattle, Wash.) notched a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore forward Greg Peters (Belmont, St. Vincent) also scored a double-double with 10 points and had 14 rebounds for the Eagles who out rebounded the smaller Wolves 63 to 40. Freshman guard Rich Skillman (Everson, Wash.) had game highs with 7 assists and 5 steals on the night.

Walla Walla (0-9) was led by sophomore Jonny Long as he dropped in 16 points for the Wolves while guard Andrew Bailey (Fresh.) added 8 points. 

It was the second meeting for the two teams as NU defeated WWU last Friday in the Walla Walla Hoop Classic, 106-66.

Northwest U. travels to Portland, Ore. On Tuesday to play Multnomah Bible College at 7:30 p.m.
