BUTTE, Montana - The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (6-1) traveled to Butte, Montana and got a hard fought 97-82 victory over the Orediggers of Montana Tech.
Junior Dan Stafford came off the bench to score 20 points, which was a team high. Fellow junior Josh Landsverk had 18 points while seniors Kris Groce and Paul Carollo had 17 points apiece.
The Mountaineers were in for a fight as the Orediggers never went away. Josh Monagle had 20 points and 9 rebounds on the night, while Brian Davidson came off the bench and hit all six of his shots, five of them coming from behind the three point line.
The Mounties will now start their conference season with a trip to Southern Oregon for a matchup with the Raiders of Southern Oregon and the Oregon Institute of Technology Hustlin' Owls on December 5th and 6th at 7:30 p.m.
