Raiders Off to Idaho for CCC Women's Soccer Semifinal vs. C of I
ASHLAND, Ore. - Fresh off its first-ever playoff victory, the Southern Oregon women’s soccer team heads to Caldwell, Idaho Wednesday to face the College of Idaho in one of two Cascade Conference semifinal matches.
The SOU-COI match starts at Noon (MST) at Vallivue High School. Corban travels to conference champion Concordia in the other semifinal. The championship match will be held Nov. 12 at the highest remaining seed.
The Raiders are in the semis thanks to a thrilling 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Northwest Saturday night.
“I’m really thrilled we were able to come away with a victory,” SOU Head Coach Jon Clement said. “Getting postseason experience with a very young team is a big plus and winning always drives the desire to win more.”
The Raiders will be making their second trip to Idaho this year. Back on Oct. 3, the Yotes defeated the Raiders 1-0 on a goal with seven seconds remaining.
Macy Egerman found the net right before time expired to give the College of Idaho victory.
“They are very well coached and like us, they are a young team,” Clement said. “We learned a lot by playing them earlier in the season, but I’m sure they also learned a lot about us.”
