San Rafael, CA -- In a battle of two NAIA Division II Top 25 teams No. 1 Oregon Tech (2-0) got 28 points from Junior point guard Justin Parnell (Sutherlin, OR) and held on to win at No. 21 Dominican University (2-2) 84-72 at the Conlan Center AKA the igloo Saturday night.

Oregon Techs Backcourt of Justin Parnell and Jguwon Hogges combined for 47 points to lead the Owls to the win. The Owls led by as much as 18 points in the first half before Dominican went on a run to cut the Oregon Tech lead to just 4 points. OIT battled back and took a 42-30 lead into the locker room at the half.

The Owls started the second half hot going up by 18 but once again the Penguins battled back trimming the Tech lead to just 3 points with under 2:00 minutes to play. The Owls however got a big steal and basket from Parnell to extend the lead back to 5 points and then held on for the 84-72 win.

Oregon Tech was led by Parnell with 28 points and Jguwon Hogges with 19 points. Andy Siverly (Merced, CA) added 11 points off the bench a career high at OIT. Josh Wetzler had 12 rebounds to lead the Owls who won the battle of the boards 36-34. Adam Chavis (Oakland, CA) showed no rust in his game scoring 27 points to lead Dominican. Chris Damarco (Appleton, WI) had 17 points and 14 rebounds in the loss for the Penguins.

Oregon Tech will wrap up its California road trip playing at Pacific Union in Angwin on Sunday November 9th at 4:00pm. The game will be broadcast starting with the Danny Miles Show at 3:30 pm on 92.5 KLAD-FM in Klamath Falls, Oregon and on the world wide web at oitsports.com.
