CORVALLIS, Ore. –With six players scoring in double figures, Oregon State defeated Concordia 82-57 in exhibition basketball on Saturday night in the Gill Coliseum.

The Beavers held the Cavaliers to 19.2 percent shooting in the first half to open up a 33-17 lead entering intermission. Despite being outrebounded 43-to-22 in the game, the Cavs would play the game tight in the second period being edged on the scoreboard 49-40 in the final 20 minutes of play.

Concordia’s Sergio Rosario led all scorers with 20 points off a 6-of-7 shooting night from the floor. Connor Hambelton was next on the scoring charts for the Cavs with seven points while Alex Thifenthaler added six.

The Beavers were paced by 15 points from Daniel Deane while Omari Johnson added 14 and Lathan Wallace putting 13 points on the board while coming off the bench.

After connecting on just 5-of-26 attempts in the first half, the Cavaliers came back out of the locker room and converted on 12-of-19 attempts for a 63.2 percent rate in the second session. Nearly half the CU scoring via beyond the three-point arc as the Cavs were successful on 9-of-19 from long range, including an 8-of-11 effort in the second period.

Concordia returns to action on Nov. 11 when it travels to Idaho for an exhibition match against Boise State. Tip is slated for 8:15 p.m. (MST) at the Taco Bell Arena.
