SPOKANE, Wash. –Limited Concordia to 22.9 percent shooting on the night, Gonzaga defeated Concordia 94-32 in women’s basketball action at the McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday Night.

Six players reached double figures for the Bulldogs, including a game-high 17 from freshman forward Kelly Bowen off the bench. Vivian Frieson added 16 after shooting 7-of-12 from the floor and added four assists, six steals and a pair of blocks in an all-around effort.

Danielle Clauson and Angela Gimeno tied for the Concordia lead with seven points each while Rebecca Gimeno and Rachel Scarpelli tied for the team lead with four rebounds.

The Cavs were plagued by turnovers, giving away the ball on 34 occasions. The Bulldogs also enjoyed a 50-to-32 advantage in rebounds.

“There is a reason they have won the West Coast Conference four years in a row,” Concordia head coach Aaron Christian said. “It was a great experience and we played much better in the second half, but we’ll continue to battle on as this experience will only benefit us as we enter the regular season.”

Concordia continues its exhibition season tomorrow by facing Washington State in Pullman. Opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.
