PORTLAND, Ore. -- Oregon Tech’s Christian Cavanaugh, a 6-10 senior center from Mill Valley, Calif., has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball.

Cavanaugh, who earned the honor for the second consecutive week, helped top-ranked Oregon Tech to a 3-0 record, including the Flagship Inn Classic title hosted by Southern Oregon University. Cavanaugh registered a pair of double-doubles and sank 20 of 22 shots from the floor over the three-game span.

In a non-conference battle against league rival Southern Oregon, Cavanaugh had 20 points and 11 rebounds while hitting all six of his field goal attempts in a 91-81 victory. Against The Master’s College, Cavanaugh had 15 points and 12 rebounds in an 81-62 win. In an 80-62 win over Simpson University, Cavanaugh had 17 points and seven rebounds.

Cavanaugh currently leads the NAIA Division II ranks in field goal percentage (.747).

The Hustlin’ Owls take a 10-0 record into their CCC opener Friday night against College of Idaho.
