PORTLAND, Ore. -- Evergreen junior Nathan Menefee, a 5-11 guard from Tacoma, Wash., has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball.

Menefee, one of the leading scorers in the NAIA ranks at 23.6 ppg, had 50 points last week as the 16th-ranked Geoducks split games with NCAA opponents Linfield and Western Oregon.

Against Linfield, a 90-82 Evergreen win, Menefee hit 12 of 23 shots from the field, pulled down five rebounds and handed out five assists. In an 89-88 loss to WOU, Menefee had 19 points, three rebounds and five assists. In the two games, Menefee sank 15 of 16 shots from the free throw line.

Evergreen, 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCC, resumes conference play this weekend when it hosts Southern Oregon on Friday and No. 1-ranked Oregon Tech on Saturday.
