Moore's 30 Leads Warner Pacific Past C of I
CALDWELL, Idaho - A 22-2 first half run blew open a close game, as No. 12 ranked Warner Pacific won their fifth-straight game with an 84-72 victory over The College of Idaho in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Knights (8-1, 2-0 CCC) led 9-8 with 15-minutes remaining in the first half, but the visitors would force four C of I turnovers, with Tom Higgins hitting back-to-back triples, sandwiched around a three-point play, to lead 31-10 with 9:35 remaining in the period. The lead would grow to 44-20, before the Yotes (5-8, 1-2) cut the margin to 48-33 at the break.
The C of I would cut the margin to 54-42 at the 14-minute mark of the second half - but the Yotes would not get closer than nine the rest of the way.
Adam Moore scored a game-high 30 points, on 11-of-14 shooting, with Aukai Wong scoring 16 points in his WP debut.
Four Yotes scored in double figures, led by Kelvin Potts with a season-high 18. Craig McGee added 17 points and eight rebounds, Brian Bergerson had 15 points, with Bryan Champ recording his second career double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds.
Tomorrow's scheduled game with Cascade has been postponed, as the T-Birds were unable to make the trek eastward - due to the inclement weather in the Willamette Valley. The game will be rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m.
