Eastern defeats the Knights 83-64

LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The #22-ranked Eastern Oregon University Men's Basketball team (7-3, 1-2 CCC) got their first Cascade Conference win of the season, as they defeated the Knights of Warner Pacific College (8-2, 2-1 CCC) 83-64.

The Mountaineers had a very efficient performance.  Eastern shot 52.2% from the field, shooting 69% in the second half.  The Mounties also only had four turnovers on the contest, but also had nineteen assists.  Even though Warner Pacific shot 49% from the field on the night, they struggled from behind the arc, hitting just three of their seventeen attempts.

Eastern Oregon was paced by senior Kris Groce how had twenty points, three rebounds and three assists.  Junior Dan Stafford had fifteen points off the bench, and also grabbed five rebounds and handed out five assists. 

Warner Pacific's leading scorer and senior Adam Moore had just twelve points on the night, while Jake Glisson had 21 points and six rebounds.  Kaylone Riley had twelve points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Mountaineers will now get a break from action until after the Christmas holiday, when they travel to play an exhibition at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Ida.  on Tuesday, December 30th at 7:00 p.m. MST.  That Friday, January 2nd, the Mounties jump back into CCC action at home against the Beacons of Northwest Christian College.  That game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. PST.
