Northwest's Greg George Tabbed CCC Men's Player of Week
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Northwest sophomore Greg George, a 6-9 forward from Seattle, has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball.
In two league games last week, George registered a pair of double-doubles as the Eagles, off to a 9-4 start, split a pair of CCC matchups this past week.
George, last year’s CCC Freshman of the Year, had 12 points and 12 rebounds in a 94-86 overtime loss to defending national champion and No. 1-ranked Oregon Tech on Friday night. The following night, in a 94-65 win over Southern Oregon University, George had 21 points, 12 rebounds and a pair of steals. In two games, he averaged 16.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and shot 55 percent from the field.
The Eagles, who currently share second place in the CCC with a 3-1 mark, next face No. 12-ranked Warner Pacific on Jan. 2.
