Northwest Defeats Concordia 90-74 for CCC Road Win
PORTLAND, Ore.—With five players scoring in double digits, Northwest University defeated Concordia 90-74 to begin the Cascade Collegiate Conference season on Friday night.
With their fifth straight win, Northwest improved to 6-3 on the year. The Cavaliers dropped to 5-3 overall.
Greg George and Greg Spurgetis paced the Eagles with 17 points each. Blake Solomon and Rich Skillman each had 14 points and Eddie Coulson added 11 points to balance the NU attack.
The Cavaliers outshot the Eagles 44.3 to 43.2 percent but were doomed sown low as NU outrebounded the home team 46-to-35, including holding a 20-to10 advantage in offensive boards.
Steven Vaughan led the Cavaliers with 25 points after connecting on 9-of-16 attempts from the floor. Matt Ochs posted a double double in the loss with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Concordia returns to the floor on Saturday when it hosts The Evergreen State College at 7:30 p.m.
