Top-Ranked OIT Leads 4 CCC Men's Hoop Teams in NAIA Top 25
KANSAS CITY – Top-ranked Oregon Tech, winner of 12 straight this season and 17 in a row dating to the 2007-08 campaign, is ranked No. 1 in the nation for the third consecutive poll, the NAIA announced Monday.
OIT improved its record to 12-0 overall and 2-0 in CCC play last weekend by defeating College of Idaho and fifth-ranked Eastern Oregon. The Owls are among the national leaders in scoring, averaging better than 90 points per game.
Three other CCC programs – Warner Pacific, Evergreen and Eastern Oregon -- are also are listed in this week’s Top 25 poll.
Warner Pacific moved from 15th to 12th after posting three victories last week, while Evergreen jumped from 20th to 16th after opening up CCC play with a pair of road wins. Eastern Oregon dropped from fifth to 22nd after suffering a pair of losses, including a 101-79 setback to top-ranked Oregon Tech.
