SEATTLE – A handful of Concordia track and field athletes got an early jump on the indoor season here Saturday at the University of Washington Winter Preview, with four Cavaliers meeting qualifying standards for the NAIA Indoor Championships.
Those securing spots in the national meet, scheduled for March 5-7 in Johnson City, Tenn., were Jesse Brown (mile), Eric Burck (5,000 meters), Linsie Michels (3,000 meters) and Andria Scheese (3,000 meters).
“It was a good opportunity to get some national qualifiers coming off of our cross country training, so we took a small group to Seattle and came away with four good races to get people to indoor nationals,” said CU head coach Randy Dalzell. “We’ll start our real indoor season in mid-January with the next meet in Seattle and a few more in Boise and Moscow, Idaho.”
