NCC Stifled by No. 3 Warner Pacific
EUGENE, Ore. -- Sophomore Andrew Miller had another strong night for the Beacons, recording a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Unfortunately this time it wouldn’t be enough as Northwest Christian fell to #3 Warner Pacific, 85-74 in the Morse Event Center.
Warner Pacific (4-2, 1-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference) shot 56% from the field and never trailed by less than ten points in the second half as they cruised to the victory. Josh Jackson had a dominant evening scoring 28 points as he hit 11-for-15 from the field including four from beyond the arc. 2006 Cascade Conference Player of the Year Scott O’Gallagher added 19 and Jalonta Martin scored 17, with just two points in the second half as he fouled out with twelve minutes remaining in the ball game.
Northwest Christian (4-5, 1-1 CCC) once again won the battle off the glass, out-rebounding the Knights 41-37. Miller had a game-high twelve rebounds, along with 16 points. Freshman Brent McKee followed closely with 15 points and eight rebounds. Josh Jarrett was cooled off by the WPC defense, scoring just ten points on 3-for-11 shooting. Overall, the Beacons shot just 41% on the night.
The Beacons will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Redding, CA to face Simpson College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
