All 11 Score as Concordia Bests Cascade
PORTLAND, Ore.—Behind a balanced attack where all 11 players scored at least four points, Concordia University dispatched Cascade College 83-57 in Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s basketball action on Friday night.
With the win, Concordia moved to 14-13 on the season and 10-7 in the league while Cascade dropped to 12-16 overall and 5-12 in the CCC.
Maryam Razavi (Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin H.S.) carried the Cavaliers on both ends of the court with a team-high 15 points. The junior guard also tallied eight assists, six rebounds and a Concordia season-leading mark of seven steals. Freshman Danielle Clauson (Edmonds, Wash./King’s H.S.) chipped in with 12 points for the Cavs while Robin Swain (Reno, Nev./North Valley H.S.) and Te Awhina Aranui (Rotorua, New Zealand) both netted 14 points for the Thunderbirds.
Concordia opened up a 12-point lead after shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 92.3 percent from the free throw line in the first period while holding Cascade to 36.7 percent shooting. The percentages were retained in the second period as Concordia continued its successful shooting by connecting on 15-of-29 from the floor. Meanwhile, Cascade converted just 2-of-23 attempts from three-point range to fall behind by 20 points with five minutes elapsed in the second period before finally falling by the 26-point margin.
Concordia returns to action on Saturday for its final regular-season home game of the season when it hosts Warner Pacific at 6:30 p.m. Cascade travels to Corban College for a 5:30 start against the Warriors.
