CALDWELL, Idaho - Eastern Oregon hit seven of their first eight three-point attempts in the second half, opening up a 21-point margin and cruised to an 85-77 victory over The College of Idaho in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The win for the No. 11 ranked Mountaineers (23-4, 16-3 CCC) moves EOU within one game of a Cascade Conference championship and their first-ever trip to Branson, Mo., and the NAIA Division II National Tournament.

After trailing by as many as 16 in the first half, the Yotes (12-17, 9-10) got buckets from Bryan Champ and Kurt Nielson to open the second half, cutting the Eastern lead to 36-31. However, three treys each from Marc Carollo and Neil Fryer jumpstarted the visitors, extending the lead to 64-44 with ten minutes left on a Fryer triple from the left corner.

Carollo had a game-high 25 points, with Josh Landsverk adding 16 points, and Paul Carollo 12 points and 14 rebounds - as EOU won their third-straight victory over The C of I.

Josh Owen led all scorers with 27 points for the Coyotes, who lost their third-straight game. Nielson had a career-high 18 points in the loss, with Bryan Champ scoring 15. The Coyote starters scored 75 of their 77 points in the game.

The C of I returns to action on Friday night, rounding out their home schedule with a 7:30 p.m. tilt against Northwest Christian.
