Lindow, Aho Leads Cavs to Fourth-Place Finish in Spring Opener
SAN MARCOS, Calif.— With top-10 finishes by Kim Lindow and Lindsay Aho, the Concordia University, women’s golf team finished in fourth place at the CSU-San Marcos Cougar Invitational held at the Lake San Marcos Country Club.
NAIA perennial power Oklahoma City University (306-313—619) ran away from the field with a 37-stroke advantage over runner-up host CSU-San Marcos (334-322—656). North Dakota State (339-320—659), an NCAA Division program, finished in third place, five strokes ahead of Concordia (333-331—664).
For the Cavs, Lindow (74-89—163) and Aho (85-78—163) tied for eighth place overall through opposite routes. Lindow fired a 74 in the opening round to finish the day in second place behind OCU’s eventual medalist Ashley Sholer (72-78—150). After an 85 on the first day, Aho came back with a 78 in the finale to move up the leaderboard.
Rounding out the Cavalier scoring, Kim Tilton (89-83—172) finished in a tie for 27th, Amy Esmeier (92-81—173) placed 31st and Lisa Schmidt placed 32nd (85-89—174).
