Colorado Springs Standout Jackie Hendrickson Signs with Concordia Soccer
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Jackie Hendrickson of Rampart High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., has signed to continue her education and commit to play soccer at Concordia University, head women’s coach Grant Landy announced today.
Hendrickson was a four-year varsity soccer and basketball player for Rampart High; playing a multiple of positions on the pitch while handling point guard duties on the court.
Hendrickson was a two-time team MVP and team captain in prep soccer and played club ball for Pride Soccer Club in Colorado Springs.
"I am really impressed by Jackie's work rate, competitiveness and intellect,” Landy said. “She will give us a ball-winner in the midfield or a shut-down defender on the backline. She is a monster in the air and loves the physical battle that the college game presents. I am really excited about her potential with our team next year and she will help solidify some holes left by our graduating seniors.”
Jackie is the daughter of Teresa Watt and Lon Hendrickson. She currently holds a 4.5 cumulative grade point average and plans to major in marketing at Concordia.
Last season, the Cavaliers finished with an 18-2-2 overall record while posting a 10-0-0 mark in Cascade Collegiate Conference play to earn the No. 4 ranking in the final NAIA Women’s Soccer Poll. Concordia opened the NAIA championships with a 2-0 win against Kansas Wesleyan before falling in the quarterfinals to eventual champion Martin Methodist in penalty kicks after playing to a 1-1 tie.
