PORTLAND, Ore.—After two weeks of trip cancellations due to travel conditions, Concordia’s track program returned to competition on Friday at the University of Idaho’s Vandal Indoor.

Triple jumpers Lakeesha Cadogan and Stephen Marshall highlighted Cavalier action by recording automatic marks to the 2008 NAIA Indoor National Championships.

Both placing fourth overall, Cadogan soared 36 feet, 9 inches while Marshall was measured in 46-6 1/4.

In addition, a pair of Cavaliers received provisional marks for the indoor championships with Leon Carl recording a 49-10 1/2 mark in the shot put and Seth Cordell clearing 15-1 in the pole vault.

“It was great to finally get to compete,” Concordia head coach Randy Dalzell said. “We only had a handful go today as the bulk will compete tomorrow. They’re anxious to get going as a lot of them were wishing they could compete today. But we will be looking to add some new qualifiers tomorrow.”

Concordia will remain in Moscow, Idaho to compete at the McDonald Open inside the University of Idaho’s Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center, the NCAA's largest indoor track and field venue with 17,000 seats. Competition opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.
