Eastern Oregon Wins 20th
LA GRANDE, Ore. - Who needs perimeter defense? The Eastern Oregon University men defeated Corban College 105-90 in a game highlighted by three-pointers, a lot of them.
Corban came out and hit ten first-half threes on 17 tries while the Mounties made eight of eleven from beyond the arc. Despite winning the battle from downtown Corban trailed at halftime 50-43.
Not much changed in the second half as both teams came out shooting the three ball. Corban started the half on a 6-0 run but failed close the gap enough and came up short.
Mark Carollo had a game high 30 points and eclipsed the 1,500 point mark during the contest. Paul Carollo added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Mounties. Corban?s Clay Martin led the team with 29 points on 9 of 9 shooting from the field. Hannes Gehring also contributed 16 points in the loss.
The win is Eastern's third straight and improves them to 20-4 on the season and 13-3 in the conference. Corban falls to 9-17 overall and 4-12 in conference. Next up for Eastern is at Northwest University on February 15.
