OLYMPIA, Wash. - The Evergreen State College defeats Northwest Christian College (Eugene, OR) 61-46 tonight at the Greenhouse. The Geoducks, who looked calm and in control in their win, led 28-18 at the half. They never let the Beacons get closer than 10 points in the second period.

Head coach Monica Heuer was relieved by the win. "We played close, like a team. It was much better tonight compared to our last game". Referring to last Tuesday's loss to Northwest University.

ESC's Jennifer Solberg (Sr. Franklin Pierce HS) earned her 10th double double of the season, scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead all players.
Joy White (Jr. Berkeley, CA) and Rosalind Lee (Jr. Oakland, CA) each had 13 points for the Geoducks. Lee had an impressive steals total with 6 for a game high this season among her teammates.

Three NCC players scored double digit games. Elise Gray led her team with 13 points and Jacquie Lipp and Lori Renner had 12 and 10 points respectively. Lipp additionally had 8 rebounds and 5 steals.

Evergreen improves to 6-10 in the Cascade Conference and 7-18 overall. Northwest Christian is 7-8 CCC and 13-12 overall.

Coming up on the schedule are two home games next weekend, both top 3 Cascade Conference teams. Evergreen plays The College of Idaho (16-7, 13-3 CCC) Friday and Eastern Oregon (21-3, 14-2 CCC) Saturday.
