SALEM, Ore. -- Saturday's three-game series finale between Corban and the University of British Columbia has been canceled due to poor field conditions and the possibility of rain beginning at noon, as announced by second-year head coach Nate Mayben in conjunction with UBC's eleventh-year head coach Terry McKaig and Corban's athletic administration.

The Warriors and Thunderbirds had already scheduled to play a four-game series on April 11th and 12th in Vancouver, B.C. with three out of the four games counting in the regional standings. With today's cancellation, all four games at Nat Bailey Stadium will now count in the overall NAIA Region I standings.

Yesterday, both teams were able to get in the scheduled doubleheader with the visiting Thunderbirds sweeping the twinbill, 4-0 & 6-1. British Columbia amassed four home runs in the two games, while Corban senior right-hander Jordan Emery registered a career-tying and game-high 10 strikeouts in the opener despite allowing three of the T-birds' four runs via the long ball.

Corban's next game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4th, against NCAA Division III member Pacific (Ore.) beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Warrior Field. Meanwhile, British Columbia returns to the field on Friday, March 8th, when the Thunderbirds take on the Cavaliers of Concordia-Portland beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Portland.
