For the third-straight season, The College of Idaho picked up a victory over an NCAA Division I opponent, as the 14th-ranked Lady Yotes split a doubleheader with Utah Valley this afternoon in Orem, Utah.

After losing the opener, 8-0, the Coyotes (6-3) used a school-record tying three home runs to pick up a 4-2 win.

Katie Zillner and Haley Butcher each hit solo homers and Caylin LePire added a two-run shot in the seventh that provided the winning margin.

Brooke Judy earned the complete-game win, striking out three and scattering seven hits, giving up just one earned run

Donnae Carrell and Butcher each had two hits in the win for the Yotes against the D-I independent.

In Game 1, Zillner struck out five in the circle, but four errors cost the Yotes in the five-inning contest, as the Wolverines broke the game open with a five-run third.

The Lady Yotes return to action on Friday night, meeting Holy Names in their home opener at 6:30 p.m.
