Big Night Ahead for 3 CCC Hoops Programs
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Three Cascade Collegiate Conference basketball teams – two on the men’s side, one on the women’s – continue their quests for national titles tonight in the country’s midsection as the NAIA men's and women's basketball tournaments look to pare down to the final eight.
On the women’s side, Eastern Oregon takes on Black Hills State (S.D.) at 7:15 p.m. PT. The Mountaineers were 52-49 winners in the first round of the NAIA Division II women’s tournament taking place in Sioux City, Iowa. EOU, the CCC’s regular season co-champion, is 25-5 overall. The win last night by the Mounts was the first by a CCC women’s program in the national tournament since College of Idaho’s victory in 2001.
Meanwhile, at the NAIA Division II men’s championship just outside of Branson, Mo., it is shaping up as a CCC doubleheader this evening as Eastern Oregon’s men’s team takes on the host institution, College of the Ozarks, at 5:30 p.m. PT, with Oregon Tech squaring off against Evangel (Mo.) at approximately 7:15 p.m. PT. The winners will advance to the final eight, with all quarterfinal games slated for Saturday.
All three games are available on a pay-per-view basis via the Internet at www.watchnaia.com.
