C of I Ranked No. 18 in First Regular Season Poll
CALDWELL, Idaho -- The College of Idaho softball team was ranked No. 18 in the first NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll of the 2008 season, released this afternoon by the national office in Kansas City, Mo.
The Lady Yotes (9-4) were ranked No. 14 in the preseason tabulation - but have been ranked in the last six national polls, dating back to the 2007 season.
Two other NAIA Region I teams were in the poll - Simon Fraser at No. 13 and Oregon Tech, which received two voter points. Cal Baptist claimed the No. 1 spot, followed by Trevecca Nazarene and Lubbock Christian.
The Lady Yotes return to action on Friday, opening an eight-game homestand against Concordia at 3 p.m.
