Cavs Take Two from EOU

LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Concordia University softball team did what no other team has been able to do so far this season. The Cavs came into The Peg and took two from the Mountaineers (5-2, 8-4).

The Mounties got off to a rocky start in game one falling behind 3-0 in the first and never got back into the game.

Pitcher of record Melodee Mildenberger went 2-3 in game one, collecting both of her teams RBI.  Iris Woodhead was the only other Mountie with multiple hits in the first going 2-3 with a run scored.

The second game started off better for EOU as the Mountie bats came alive, pushing EOU out to a 4-1 advantage in the first.  Unfortunately, some untimely errors in the field coupled with some timely hits by the visitors allowed Concordia to rally and take the lead for good in the 5th inning.

Megan Platz and Lydia Holm were a combined 4-7 in the second.  Platz scored once as did Holm, Lydia also tallied an RBI.

Eastern heads for better weather as they travel south to Arizona for the Tucson Invitational, March 24-26.
