Concordia's Tyler Austin posted his fifth straight under par round in Cascade Collegiate Conference competition thanks to today's opening day rounds.
Concordia's Austin Leads After Opening Day at Cascade Collegiate Conference #3
MONROE, Ore. -- Concordia's Tyler Austin shot an opening day total of 3-under 141 and leads the Cascade Collegiate Conference #3 Qualifier hosted by Corban College by four strokes Monday at Diamond Woods Golf Course.
Austin, who went out with an opening 18-hole score of 3-under 69, came home with an even-par round of 72 and leads the overall tournament by six strokes heading into Tuesday's final round.
Northwest Christian's Justin Ahrens is in second place after carding a second round low of 2-under 70. Ahrens finished the two-round total at 3-over 147 and is tied for second with Concordia's Craig Dehning, who carded rounds of 3-over 75 and even-par 72 respectively.
Concordia's Marc Arima and Northwest Christian's Brent McKee round out of the top five with scores of 4-over 148 and 5-over 149 respectively.
For Corban and The College of Idaho, Ben Sisler turned in an opening day score of 10-over 154 to lead the host school while Cris Tietsort led the 'Yotes of C of I after carding an opening day total of 20-over 164.
As a team, Concordia's "A" team leads the overall competition by 49 strokes (16-over 592) over Northwest Christian who totaled a 55-over 631 after the opening two rounds.
In third place, Concordia's "B" team carded a team total of 66-over 642 and is ahead of tournament host Corban by two strokes and The College of Idaho by 49 strokes heading into the final 18 holes of the tournament.
