PORTLAND, Ore. – The College of Idaho’s Jake Bottari and Brad Carlsen have been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.

Bottari, a 6-0 junior relief pitcher from Wells, Nev., helped C of I to a pair of non-conference wins over Simpson College and a key win against the University of British Columbia this past week. In his three appearances last week, Bottari threw 6 2/3 innings, giving up just a single unearned run and three hits, while striking out four and walking one. Bottari’s lone decision was a save in a 7-5 win against Simpson.

Carlsen, the ‘Yotes second baseman, hit .389 in the College of Idaho’s five game last week, going 7-for-18 from the plate. Carlsen had at least one hit in every game, collecting a double, an RBI and two stolen bases. The 6-0 junior from Reno, Nev. helped the Coyotes stay one-half game behind Concordia for the CCC lead. Carlsen was also named NAIA Region I Player of the Week.
