Corban's Sailors, Tech's Bittle Named Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week

PORTLAND, Ore. – Corban College’s Erin Sailors and Oregon Tech’s Jenni Bittle have been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.

Sailors, the 5-8 junior from Anchorage, Alaska, repeats as Softball Pitcher of the Week as she helped guide Corban to a 3-1 record this week. The right-hander went a perfect 2-0 with one save as Sailors registered her first-ever no-hitter Saturday against Eastern Oregon before coming back in Game #2 to record her second career save. In 14 1/3 innings of work, Sailors registered a team-high 20 strikeouts and broke her own single-season school record for strikeouts with 119 and counting.

Last week, Bittle led the Hustlin’ Owls to a perfect 4-0 week, improving to 24-10 on the season. Bittle hit an incredible .714 going 10-for-14 with a double, four runs bated in and five runs scored. Tech’s senior hitting pitcher also picked up two wins and a save while in the circle. She was also named NAIA Region I Player of the Week.
