PORTLAND, Ore. -- A total of 17 student-athletes representing six Cascade Collegiate Conference institutions have met automatic qualifying standards for next month's national championships in St. Louis, Mo.

Of the 17 who have met the automatic standards, two have the best marks in the NAIA to date -- Concordia's Annie Hess in the discus (183-10) and Concordia's Lauren Sexton in the javelin (161-9). The Cavaliers have qualified eight student-athletes, including two in multiple events (Hess in the discus and shot put and Lakeesha Cadogan in the long jump and triple jump). Oregon Tech has qualified four athletes and Eastern Oregon has qualified two. Corban, Evergreen and Southern Oregon have qualified on athlete each.
