Cavaliers Ink Heritage High Soccer Standout Sarah Saldivar
PORTLAND, Ore. – Sarah Saldivar of Vancouver’s Heritage High School has signed to continue her education and play soccer at Concordia University, Cavalier head coach Grant Landy announced today.
Saldivar was the team MVP for Heritage High School as a senior, leading the Timberwolves to the state tournament after capturing a district championship. She was a two-time first-team all-league pick and a two-time team captain. Saldivar was a member of the THUSC Silver Club team and played on the Oregon ODP ‘91 girls team. She also competed in prep golf for two seasons.
Sarah is the daughter of Shellee and Jay Saldivar. Her father was a wrestler for the University of Oregon. Sarah plans to enroll in a pre-medicine program at Concordia.
“Sarah will give us another athletic defender or midfielder this fall,” Landy said. “I have been impressed by her technical ability and composure with the ball at her feet under pressure. She goes in hard and likes the physical nature of the game, which is vital at the college level.”
