EOU's Windle Sets PR in 5,000 at WOU Twilight
MONMOUTH, Ore. -- While the majority of the EOU track and field team took a rare (for this time of the year) weekend off, several athletes competed Friday night at the Western Oregon Twilight here.
Competing for EOU on Friday night were senior Shauna Dahlin and grad student Stephanie Windle. Both put up good performances, and in Windle's case a lifetime PR in the 5,000 meter run.
Dahlin tied for first in the high jump with a cold-hampered mark of only 4-11 1/2, and came back a few minutes later to run a rough, but tough, 100 meter hurdle race to place sixth overall in 18.61 seconds.
Windle meanwhile came back late in the meet, in temperatures in the mid 30’s, to run a PR and NAIA “B” (provisional) time of 18:20.04 in the 5,000 meters to finish fifth overall.
The team returns to action on Saturday at Mt. Hood Community College in the Mt. Hood/Concordia meet in Gresham.
