PORTLAND, Ore. – The College of Idaho’s Katie Zillner and Oregon Tech’s Brittany Warren have been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.

Zillner claims her second Softball Pitcher of the Week award as she helped guide the ‘Yotes to a 4-0 record this week with wins over The University of Great Falls and Northwest Christian College. Zillner, the Conference’s strikeout leader, fanned 28 in her two appearances, including 15 against the Lady Argonauts of UGF. With those strikeouts, the senior right-hander from Emmett, Idaho, became the first C of I pitcher to amass over 500 strikeouts for her career. Zillner was also chosen for NAIA Region I Pitcher of the Week.

Warren, a 5-5 junior outfielder from Longview, Wash., helped the Owls to a perfect 4-0 week, leading CCC-leading OIT to conference sweeps over Concordia University and Corban College. Warren went 7-for-12 (.583) with two doubles and two homers and drove in six. Her first homer of the week tied the contest against Concordia at 1-1, in route to the 4-3 victory. Warren was also selected as NAIA Region Softball Player of the Week.
