OLYMPIA, Wash. - Two community college volleyball players, both standout athletes on their former teams, will join the 2008 Evergreen program this fall.

Jessica DuBois (Tumwater, WA) joins the team after two years at Bellevue Community College and Hailey Harris (Shoshone, ID) joins after playing at Everett Community College.

DuBois graduated from Tumwater High School in 2006 and earned first team all-league and 3A all-state honors her senior year. The outside hitter was named Tumwater High School's 2006 Outstanding Female Athlete. During her two years at Bellevue she was a starting player and in 2007 DuBois earned All-NWAACC Northern Region second team honors.

"Jessica will bring leadership and experience from her two years at Bellevue," notes Evergreen head coach Clay Blackwood.

DuBois will transfer in the fall with an AA degree from Bellevue.

Harris (Shoshone High School / Shoshone, ID) plans to focus on English and education while at Evergreen. The middle/outside hitter has eight years of volleyball experience behind her.

In high school, Harris lettered all four years and was named team captain, given the coaches award among many honors. Her athletic background is extensive, having played both basketball and participated in rodeo for her high school.

At Everett Community College, Harris has been an NWAACC All-Academic award winner, named to the Academic Dean's List at the college and has been team captain and MVP.

Coach Blackwood is familiar with Harris' play.

"I watched Hailey play against my former team and I was always impressed with her... she will give us a solid defensive presence as a setter or libero," said Blackwood.
