PORTLAND, Ore. – Skyler Kamaka of Hawaii’s Kamehameha Schools has signed to continue her education and become a member of the Concordia University volleyball team, Cavalier head coach Christopher Duenow announced this week.

Kamaka was a two-year varsity player for the Warriors as a setter, guiding the team to a pair of state championships. The 5-foot-8 lefthander also played several seasons for the Jammers Volleyball Club. Kamaka has also spent time as a right-side and an outside hitter.

“We are incredibly blessed to have a setter of Skyler's talent, character and competitive instincts join the Cavalier volleyball family,” Duenow said. “Skyler comes from a long tradition of outstanding volleyball talent at Kamehameha and Jammers Volleyball club and I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with her every day in the gym. She is a true competitor and brings a strong knowledge of both the game and the setting position so we anticipate Skyler making an immediate impact this fall.”

Skyler is the daughter of Jennifer Kamaka and is undecided on a college major.
