OIT Ranked No. 21 in NAIA Softball Top 25 Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Oregon Tech softball team dropped one spot to No. 21 in this week’s NAIA top 25 coach’s poll, the national office announced today. Concordia University (19-14, 14-8 CCC) was the only other Cascade Collegiate Conference team to receive votes in this week’s poll, but did not crack the top 25. The only other Region I team to receive votes was Simon Fraser (13-7) of British Columbia who is currently holding down the No.14 position.
Oregon Tech (32-12) went 4-2 on the week and claimed the Cascade Conference title after its first win of a doubleheader sweep over Eastern Oregon University on Friday.
The Lady Owls will travel to Southern Oregon to wrap CCC play on Friday before hosting the Region I tournament on May 8-9. Three of the four teams in the tournament are set and include host Oregon Tech, Simon Fraser and Concordia University. The CCC team to capture third place in the conference standings, after this weekend's games, will be the No. 4 seed in the Region tournament.
