Warriors Sweep Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards

PORTLAND, Ore. – Corban College’s Brandon Wolters and Daniel Flores have been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.

Wolters, a 6-1 junior from Gresham, Ore., helped the Warriors to improve to 7-18 on the season, including a key win against Oregon Tech this past week. In his three appearances last week, Wolters threw 12 innings, giving up seven earned runs on 15 hits. Wolters picked up the win against OIT, scattering six hits and allowing three runs.  Wolters was also named NAIA Region I Pitcher of the Week.

Flores picked up his first Player of the Week award, hitting .346 in the Warrior’s six games last week, while going 9-for-26 from the plate. Flores had at least one hit in every game, collecting three doubles, and nine runs batted in. The 5-10 senior from San Jose, Calif., lead all CCC hitters with at least two plate appearances per team game played in slugging percentage at .554 and is four behind the league leaders in hits with 33.
