Corban's Sailors, Tech's Titus Named Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week
PORTLAND, Ore. – The Corban College’s Erin Sailors and Oregon Tech’s Sunceray Titus have been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.
Sailors, a 5-8 junior from Anchorage, Alaska, helped lead Corban to a 4-2 record this week that included a three-game winning streak to conclude a hectic six-game home stand for the Warriors. The right-hander was a perfect 3-0 with one save this week in 22 innings of work, as she allowed a mere nine runs (five earned) to go along with her team-high total 29 strikeouts. Currently, Sailors ranks third in the conference in strikeouts with 99.
Last week, Titus led the Hustlin’ Owls to 4-2 week, including key weekend sweeps over #22 College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Titus hit .438 (10-for-23) with four doubles, two home runs and drove in eight runners. Tech’s sophomore outfielder was also named NAIA Region I Player of the Week.
