LEWISTON, Idaho -- On the day that Lewis-Clark State fell from the top-spot in the NAIA poll, the Warriors took advantage of nine walks, two errors, and two hit batters by The College of Idaho in a 10-2 win at Harris Field in Lewiston.

The win by No. 2 ranked L-C (32-4) improved their record against their Idaho rivals to 9-1 this season and was their second-straight three-game sweep over the Coyotes.

The Yotes (15-19) had a chance to jump on Warriors starter Tyler Knigge in the first, loading the bases on a Bryan Champ double and two walks, but Alex O'Brien struck out to end the threat. L-C had two on with two out, but an error on a routine ball to second base kept the inning alive, with Brian Ward rapping a bases-clearing double to give the Warriors all the run support they would need.

L-C added two more in the fourth and the fifth to put the game away, as Josh Ashenbrenner had three of the Warriors nine hits in the game.

The Coyotes scored their runs on a pair of RBI singles - one by Devin Weaver in the fourth, the other by Champ in the sixth - as The C of I could not take advantage of six Knigge walks, stranding 11 runners in the game. Champ went 2-for-4 in the game, finishing the series 8-for-15.

The Yotes return to action this weekend, heading to Oregon Tech for a four-game series against the Owls to open up the second half of the Region I schedule.
