Oregon Tech Soccer Signs Trio
KLAMATH FALLS, Oregon ---Oregon Tech head women’s soccer coach, Bryan Mueller, announced today the signing of three recruits for the upcoming 2008 season: Molly Brabham (Thurston H.S./Eugene, OR), Kelly Lewis (Clackamas C.C./Oregon City, OR), and Brooke Cole (Westview H.S./Portland, OR)
Molly Brabham has been a four year starter at Thurston HS in Eugene, Oregon; she tallied more than 20 goals in her time with Thurston and was a key team member as the school won the Mid-Western league in 2006 and 2007. Molly also played for the Thurston Colts club team. “Molly will add a lot to our attack, and will be responsible for scoring goals and setting up her teammates. Molly has a great work ethic and is very strong with the ball. We are very excited to add Molly to our program and expect her to contribute to our success immediately,” said Coach Mueller. Molly is the daughter of Mark and Shirley Brabham of Eugene, Oregon, and will study ultrasound/diagnostic medical sonography at Oregon Tech.
Kelly Lewis a former Estacada High School star and standout freshman forward for Clackamas Community College led the team in goals with 21, a mark which stands fourth all-time for a season at Clackamas. Lewis originally signed to play for Clackamas in 2005 but an injury delayed her career until last season. “We feel that Kelly will be an impact player at Oregon Tech and will be pushing for a starting role immediately. In my three years at OIT we have never had a player with her ability,” Oregon Tech Head Soccer Coach Bryan Mueller said. Kelly is the daughter of Lynda Hohensee and Stan Lewis, and will be a sonography major at Oregon Tech.
Brooke Cole has been a four year starter and stand out at Westview High School. She was a 2006 1st team all metro selection, a 2007 2nd team all metro selection, a 2006 defensive player of the year, and was 2007-2008 co-captain for the Westside Metros club team. Oregon Tech’s head soccer coach Bryan Mueller said, “Brooke has a lot of experience playing soccer at the highest level week in and week out. She has played in many showcase tournaments against some of the best teams throughout the Northwest. She is a very polished and composed player. Brooke is a born leader and will anchor our team at defense. She is a very intelligent player who sees the whole field and communicates extremely well with her teammates, she will make an immediate impact on our team. There is no better player in the high school or club ranks in the Pacific Northwest, and her signing for OIT is a key element to the future of our program.” Brooke is the daughter of Marcie and Corby Cole of Portland, Oregon and will study sonography/nuclear medicine at Oregon Tech.
