Cascade College Says Goodbye To Jeremy Schwartz
PORTLAND, Ore. - Cascade College has announced the resigantion of Athletic Director and Director of Soccer Jeremy Schwartz, effective May 23rd.
Soccer coach for four seasons and athletic director for two, Schwartz engineered a turnaround of the Thunderbird soccer teams. With just just one win between the programs in the season before he arrived, the Thunderbirds registered a combined 16 wins in 2008 including a first ever playoff berth on the women's side. Schwartz coached 10 All-CCC players and 5 NAIA All-America Scholar Athletes.
Coach Schwartz and his family are moving to Charleston, SC where he will assume Athletic Director and soccer coaching duties at James Island Christian High School.
"We are very sad to see the Schwartz family leave us," said Tom Gaumer, Director of Campus Life. "What Jeremy has done for our athletic department, and specifically our soccer teams is remarkable. He elevated those programs in every way. He is simply a wonderful coach and administrator who shows the love of Christ to his players by the way he lives his life. He will be sorely missed."
Women's basketball coach Matt Murphy will step in as athletic director on an interim basis. Assistant men's soccer coach Mike Alfers will move into the head spot, and Justin Bigelow will continue his duties as head women's soccer coach.
