Northwest's Marshall Playing Summer Soccer with Vermont Voltage

ST. ALBANS, Vt. - The Eagles' Shauna Marshall is spending her summer in Vermont and performing double duty as a player and director of public relations for the Vermont Voltage Ladies soccer team of the United States Soccer League.
 
Marshall is playing midfielder for the Voltage Ladies and is one of only two players from the west coast. The Vermont Voltage Ladies were established in 2005 and are part of the nation's highest division of women's soccer in the United States and Canada. They play in the W-League of the USL, Northern Division, where they compete against teams like Montreal, Ottawa, Rochester, Toronto divisionally, or NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, and San Diego on the national level for the crown of the W-League.

The Ladies are part of the Vermont Voltage Soccer Club, which is one of the well established franchises in the United Soccer Leagues. The club itself has won multiple league and local awards, and is regarded as one of the benchmark clubs in the league.
Along with her playing duties, Shauna is also interning with the Voltage as director of pubic relations.

Marshall was selected as a member of the 2007 CCC Women's Soccer All-Conference First Team and will return to Northwest U. this fall for her final year of school and athletic eligibility.

"I am so proud of her and feel very confident Shauna will do well and represent Northwest University and our conference in the highest regard in both her capacities with the Voltage," commented head coach Erin Redwine, who played for the Seattle Sounders in the same league. "She'll return to Kirkland a better player in the fall and it will really help the team."
