KANSAS CITY, Mo.—For the second straight season, Concordia head coach Randy Dalzell was awarded the NAIA Region I Coach of the Year for men’s and women’s track and field.

Dalzell guided the Cavalier men to a fifth-place finish at the NAIA national championships last week, the program’s highest finish in its three-year existence. Led by NAIA Outstanding Performer Annie Hess, who shattered the meet’s discus record in a successful title defense, the Concordia women placed 13th overall.

In all, the Cavaliers tallied three individual national champions and nine NAIA All-Americans. Prior to the national meet, the Cavs swept the men’s and women’s team crowns at the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships.
