Zillner, Holm Earn CCC's Weekly Softball Honors
PORTLAND, Ore. – College of Idaho’s Katie Zillner and Eastern Oregon’s Lydia Holm have been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, the CCC office announced.
Zillner, a 5-9 senior from Emmett, Idaho, tossed a five-hitter in a 2-1 win over Eastern Oregon last week as the Yotes clinched a berth in the Region I tournament with the victory. Zillner walked just one and struck out 11 batters. She stretched to 38 her streak of innings without allowing an earned run.
Holm, a 5-6 senior third baseman from Salem, Ore., helped EOU to a 3-1 record by batting .500 (7 for 14) with one double, four homers and 11 RBIs in four games. In a non-conference doubleheader sweep of Walla Walla University, she had three homers and eight RBIs.
