Warner Pacific Adds Three More to Recruiting Class
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Warner Pacific Women’s soccer program announces the signing of three more talented players this week including two defensive players in Erica Sonnenberg a transfer from North Idaho College and Jessi Sheava from Pleasant Hill High School in Oregon. Kimmie Rader out of Las Vegas High School in Nevada Nevada rounds out the list as an attacking player that can play both forward and midfield.
Kimmie Rader
Rader, a talented forward and attacking player from Las Vegas, Nevada will bring great technical ability with size and quickness to create goal scoring chances for the Knights in 2008. A member of the Las Vegas High School varsity team for three seasons, Rader served as a senior captain, led the team in scoring with 10 goals and 7 assists, and led the team to their third straight appearance in the Northeast Region Final. Rader was also a 1st team selection in both the Sunrise Region, and Northeast Region in her career, while earning a White Letter from Las Vegas High School for lettering in three varsity sports which included soccer, volleyball, and track.
Rader plays either forward or midfield for her club soccer team Dosveedanya Soccer Club U18, one of the top teams in the Premiere league. The team has won tournaments in both Southern California and Arizona. Prior to playing for Dosveedanya, Rader played for the Heat FC team.
“Kimmie is a great attacking minded player that can create opportunities with her technical ability and athleticism. She has the ability to get in behind defenses and set up her teammates with precision passing”
Jessi Sheava
Sheava a standout player from Pleasant Hill High School lettered all four years as a starting defender on the varsity squad. As one of the top defenders Sheava helped the team make it to the state playoffs each year. “Jessi has great speed and composure on the ball, and is a tough tackling defender that can cover the field very well.”
Jessi has been an honor roll student all four years of high school and also is active in her church and 4H.
Erica Sonnenberg
Sonnenberg joins the Knights as a transfer who was a two year starter playing multiple positions at North Idaho College where she scored two goals from a defensive role in 2006. In 2007, Sonnenberg helped NIC win the Region 18 Championship before losing in the NJCAA District B Playoff, this after NIC placed second in Region 18 in 2006. Before playing at NIC, Sonnenberg was a three year varsity letter winner at Centennial High School, in Boise, Idaho.
She is the daughter of Kim Johnson and Erwin Sonnenberg. She has five siblings, David, Kris, Jennifer, Chelli, and Kristin.
“Erica brings a great physical presence to the defense and has the ability to play multiple positions. She is versatile but will mainly play a defensive role because of her ability to dominate the air and dominant the space in front of our goal with tough physical play.”
