KLAMATH FALLS, Oregon (May 8, 2008)---The College of Idaho moved into the championship round with a 12-7 win over Oregon Tech today in game #4 of the NAIA Region I championship tournament.

The Yotes jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but Tech first baseman, Bess Fagan, hit a towering two out 3-run homerun in the bottom of the 4th inning to tie the game at 3-3. C of I would then go on to put up seven runs in the top of the 5th inning to jump on top 10-3, all but assuring a win. The Owls battled back with two runs in the 5th and 6th innings, cutting the lead to 10-7, but the Yotes would add two more in the 7th to give them a five run cushion and win by the final of12-7, as the Owls could push nothing across in the last inning.

Tech’s Amber Sinicrope and Katie King each finished with two hits and two RBI for the game, while Brittany Warren drove in one run and Fagan three on her homerun. Jenni Bittle was the losing pitcher, dropping her to 18-7.

C of I got two hits each from Haley Butcher, Stacy Smith and Kalie Kurdy, with Kurdy driving in five of the Yotes 12 runs in the game. It was Katie Zillner’s second win today, as she improved to 16-7 on the season, while Brooke Judy picked up her second save of the year for the Yotes.

Oregon Tech will meet Simon Fraser in tomorrow’s elimination game beginning at 11:00 a.m. The winner will have to beat College of Idaho twice tomorrow for the right to advance to the 2008 NAIA national championship in Decatur, Alabama on May 16th.
