PORTLAND, Ore. –Kippy Powers, formerly of Clark College, has signed to continue her education and play basketball at Concordia University, Cavalier head women’s coach Aaron Christian announced today.

Powers, a native of Sultan, Wash., will be a junior in eligibility at Concordia after spending three seasons at Clark College. Powers played her freshman season with the Penguins under the direction of Christian, who coached at Clark from 2004-06.

“It will be great to reunite and have Kippy back,” Christian said. “I know having a person that has played in our system will be very beneficial to our team. Kippy provides instant energy and will push her teammates to perform at a high level.”

Powers played two seasons of basketball and two seasons of soccer while at Clark after a successful career at Sultan High School. A 2005 graduate, Powers was a three-sport athlete for the Turks, having spent several seasons on the basketball, soccer and track and field teams.

As a senior, Powers earned team MVP honors en route to being named second-team all-conference. On the pitch, helped lead Sultan to a state championship in 2002.
