PORTLAND, Ore. – Caleb Louvier of the Corban College men’s soccer team has been voted the 2007-08 Cascade Collegiate Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league office announced Tuesday.

Louvier of SeaTac, Wash., who graduated this spring with a degree in health science, was Corban’s Senior Scholar-Athlete and Male Athlete of the Year in 2007-08. In addition to earning NAIA and CCC Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition last fall, the 5-foot-10 high-scoring midfielder finished an amazing career by concluding with four straight All-Cascade Collegiate Conference first team honors, three straight NAIA All-Region I first team honors, and three straight NAIA All-American honorable mention recognitions.

This past season, Louvier led the team in total points with 19 and goals scored with eight. He scored the game-winning goal in Corban's 2-1 victory over the Eagles of Northwest on September 26th in his next-to-last road game donning the navy and gold.

Louvier finished his final campaign ranked fifth in shots per game (2.88), tied for fifth in goals (8), sixth in goals per game (0.47), sixth in total shots (49), tied for seventh in points (19), and seventh in points per game (1.12), in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. In his four-year career, Louvier tallied 37 goals, handed out 19 assists, recorded 93 points, and registered 194 total shots in 67 games. In Warrior history, Louvier ranks fifth in both goals and points as well as seventh in assists.

"Not only is Caleb an exemplary student, he is an outstanding athlete and person of character. Putting all three of these qualities together as Caleb has, sets a standard to what we hope all Corban athletes will aspire,” said Corban athletic director John Nelson. “Corban Athletics is very proud of Caleb and feels fortunate to have had him in a Warrior uniform. We are confident he will be very successful in any endeavor he pursues."
